Dance programs
The AVDC provides the highest level of instruction in all forms of dance. Students learn quality technique and real-life character-building skills — AVDC's ultimate goal is motivated, engaged students with the skills to succeed in every venue of life.
By age group
A great way to start a little one's dancing career. We teach tumbling, tap and ballet during a 45-minute time frame — an introduction to musicality, movement, creativity, terminology and group interaction. Tons of fun with games and prizes — a $7 class. Creative Movement performs in our showcases and is usually the star of the show!
Classes in Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theatre Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap and Acrobatics. At this level we stress ballet as the foundation of all dance and extensively teach acrobatics — it builds the body strong and flexible for future dance careers. Plus games and prizes. Mini Competition dancers must take ballet and acrobatics (int–adv, ages 6–8); all competing kids audition for a spot.
Mini Competition TeamClasses in Ballet, Pre-Pointe, Extreme Stretch/Extensions, Turns/Jumps, Jazz, Musical Theatre Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Choreography, Stage Make-up and Acrobatics. Ballet stays the foundation while acrobatics builds a strong, flexible body — and it's the perfect age to create their own choreography and apply their own stage makeup. Our Junior Competition Team takes dance to a higher level; audition required to compete.
Junior Competition TeamMusical Theatre Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Choreography, Stage Make-up and Acrobatics for ages 13+. Multiple classes a week, with ballet still stressed as the foundation. Seniors continue creating choreography and may even assist in teaching their own classes, subject to training level. Our Senior Competition Team wins high-scoring accolades and scholarships at top dance competitions; audition required to compete.
